New Sports Nutrition Product
For the first time on NZ shores, Instinct Sports Nutrition has arrived. I received this on Friday and have been able to trial all the products over the weekend. This is an amazing product that is all about the health and wellbeing as well as performance and is based around nourishing the body with premium quality all nartural and organic (where possible) ingredients. Instinct Sports Nutrition is an Australian owned and operated sports supplement company specialising in natural Nutrigenomic products*.
*Nutrigenomics is a branch of nutritional genomics and is the study of the effects of foods and food constituents on gene expression. This means that nutrigenomics is research focusing on identifying and understanding molecular-level interaction between nutrients and other dietary bioactives with the genome. – Wikipedia
The first product i tried was the rehydration drink and i have to say the taste was really nice and very easy to drink. It assists with maintaining optimum fluid levels and also has added in Magnesium and Calcium which may prevent the incidence of cramps and assists athletes in maintaining normal muscle function. Along with the above they have added two powerful Antioxidants, which will enhance and help improve recovery. You consume this in the days leading up to an event and then throughout the event.
Next was the energy gel which I consumed on my 2hr Saturday ride at around the 1hr mark. I had the berry flavour and again the taste was good and it wasn't too thick so it came out of the packaging without any fuss. It didn't cause any gut issues and I have to say my energy levels didn't drop on the ride and that was with completing a 1.5hr swim session first thing in the morning.
Lastly was the Brown Rice Protein which was chocolate flavoured. I mixed this with water and probably a bit much water at that, it can be mixed with milk as well, but the chocolate flavour was nice and again easy to drink. It did seem a bit gritty but i have been informed that they have now sorted this.
So overall I found the 3 products to be great and if you want to know more you can go to Instinct Sport Nutrition's website (www.instinctsportsnutrition.com.au) or get hold of me.
